Hosted Exchange, IMAP & POP3 Email Solutions

We provide small business owners like yourself with an email platform that will enable you to effectively communicate with your customers and employees. This also include looking at all your mobile devices and understanding the way your business works and ensuring that we offer the most suitable solution for your business.

Our solutions are scalable to virtually any size of business and you can start with as little as one mailbox if you are a sole trader and we can scale this to 50 or more mailboxes for larger or growing businesses.

There are a number of different email protocols or types of email systems such as POP, IMAP, MAPI, Web, Exchange and our job is to explain to you the benefits of each of these systems and which platform will work best for your business and most important your budget.

You might already know what mail system you are using and what the benefits are, if you do, then skip of to the next paragraph and if you don’t, then here is a quick breakdown of the 3 most common systems we deal with:

  • POP or POP3 – This is the simplest forms of email and best suited for single device users. All the email is stored locally on your computer (nor mobile device) and even though you can access POP email from multiple devices, you cannot see which emails have been read or replied to on any of the other devices except where the email was actioned.
  • IMAP – This platform is great for people with multiple devices such as a desktop, laptop and one or more smartphones and tablets. The email is stored on the server and cached to your local device whether that is a mobile or desktop. This model required large mailbox size allocation on the mail server as emails are not removed from the server unless deleted from your Inbox. You can also create folders and all the folders and sent items will be visible on all your email clients, as well as which emails have been read, responded to or still unread.
  • Exchange/MAPI/ActiveSync – This platform offer the same features as IMAP and added full synchronization of contacts and calendar as well. No more plugging your phone or smartphone into your computer via a USB cable to sync your contacts and calendar events, it is all done wirelessly via the internet. This typically works best with Microsoft Outlook (not Express) and any change you make in Outlook will be replicated to your mobile devices and other computers where Outlook is installed. It is 2-way, so if you edit a calendar event or update a contact on your phone, the changes are sent back to the server and replicated with your Outlook on your main computer.

For obvious reasons we heavily promote Microsoft Exchange (hosted and local) due to its power, flexibility and being widely supported on most mobile and desktop platforms and thanks to the zero hardware requirements of the hosted edition, we can ever offer a sole trader fully synchronized email, contacts and calendar capabilities on practically all his/her mobile and desktop devices.

In addition to Microsoft Exchange we do also offer and support more or less all the mail platforms and protocols as outlined above either as a cloud based service or a locally installed server.

Below is a list of some of the mail platforms/systems that we are able to offer:

  • Office 365
  • Hosted Exchange
  • Open Source/Free POP3 Local Mail Server
  • Classic Cloud Based IMAP/POP3 Mailboxes
